Torchwood Online?
I am so confused by this mission-what do you do, how do you log in to the new eden website? How do you do any of it? Help would be very much apreciated. Oh it’s the third mission! Thankyou

Have you found the link to the New Eden site? It’s in the files. If it’s the password you’re having trouble with, it’s the common name for the mineral whose chemical code is written in the mission files (where it says ‘password’, the code and ‘common name’). Google the code and you’ll find the answer. It’s two words and you have to enter them with no punctuation and no space between the two. When you log in you’ll be taken to page with a video, at the end of video the number you need to enter will appear on the video screen.

If you the password, it’s here:

future job options??? helppp?
Im trying to find what major/career im interested in. I am 18 yrs old. So im realllly interested and love old artifacts and the study of the past. I don’t want to be an archaeologist though. I love books like angels and demons, The Da Vinci Code, and mystery solving like sherlock holmes. Im not sure if any of this is helpful i just need some idea of where to start. Basically i love reading and learning about the past and solving mysteries. any positive feedback would be great.
dont really worry about money or what i "should" study rather than what i said. i have a backup major just in case which is psychology/ therapist field.. but i wanna kno what i can do with what i love

you could be a historian and specialize in a certain area of history that interests you most, like religions or culture. Or you could look into criminology and forensic sciences or forensic psychology; a lot of that stuff has to do with figuring out how and why a criminal committed a crime, you have to delve deep into the criminal case and even the criminal’s mind in order to solve the problem!

Good luck, I’ve had the exact same problem as you, hope you find an idea you like!

applehead | Dec 31, 2009

You have a great head start because you know what you like!

Off the bat, I can’t think of a career that would fit what you described, other than becoming a writer so you can write about the things you love. ;)

I’m thinking that you might need to create a job for yourself. I’m reading "Zen and the Art of Making a Living". It helps you define your passions, then helps you figure out how you can do what you love and make a living. Check it out in your local bookstore!

If I can offer one other piece of advice…do what you are passionate about, and money will come. Don’t get -lazy- and go for a ’standard career’ because it’s easier than taking a few risks that could pay off big time.

I don’t want to sound like a downer, but any degree in Liberal Arts or Humanities is pretty useless unless you want to become a teacher or professor. I too LOVE history and when I was younger wanted to be an archaeologist. My husband has a degree in History and is a teacher. He gets paid crap considering the amount of schooling he had to go through, and how many hours a week he puts in with classes, class prep. grading, and athletic coaching. Not even concerning money, it’s very difficult to find jobs with these types of degrees. Most of the people I know with say, a Political Science, History, or Journalism degree are employed, however their job no way connects to what their degree is in.

I would suggest gearing yourself up to start a degree in Nursing (or anything else health related) or maybe computers. Network programmers, administrators, etc. make decent money and the jobs are in relative demand. Accountants also make GREAT money and I see job openings there all the time. It takes a special person to be an accountant though…lol If I could do things differently, it would have started after I graduated high school. I would have gone into nursing or a pharmacy tech position.
evaana85 | Dec 31, 2009

You may not want to but you really NEED to think about money, unless your parents are wealthy and you are a trust fund baby. You won’t be happy if you are doing what you love but you can’t feed yourself or your family and its getting more difficult every day. Take it from someone who saw it happen to their parents.

I think you could be a Lawyer, in a field that involves investigation. Maybe Criminology?

Hogfather (tv movie)?
So, did anyone else happen to catch the wonderful tv movie "Hogfather" last night, on the ION channel? I’ve been a Terry Pratchett fan for many years, and I wasn’t even aware that a film version of my favorite Pratchett book (Hogfather) had been made.

I thought it was wonderful. It’s probably the closest book-to-movie adaptation I have ever seen in my life. The characters were so well-played, and the actors chosen were perfect. It was also good to see Nigel Planer (my favorite "Young One") in something new.

Anyone else happen to catch it (or see it prior to now)? What did you think?
Yeah, I realized last night that the movie was made a year ago for Sky. I also knew about the Wyrd Sisters movie, as well as the Soul Music one made at the same time.
And the dvd was released in the US a few months ago, available at one particular chain bookstore. However, they’re apparently doing a wide release of the dvd in a few months.

I think the part of Albert was miscast should have used the Brit actor Richard Wilson who would have been better.
This film was made last Christmas and was shown on Sky in UK. Did enjoy it though.
Also an animated adaption of Wyrd Sisters was also made a few years ago and shown on tv in UK.
I live in the UK and The Hogfather is available here in UK on DVD.

How many goals would have Arshavin got yesterday if he was a physically strong specimen?
like say, Rooney or Drogba, instead of being a kick-sand-in-the-face weakling.

Does he epitomise all that is Arsenal i.e. nice to look at, but lacking an end result?

Answer: 0
Enough Said.
Kizziie | Feb 01, 2010

Probably about four

as for Arsenal they lack experience and leadership along with the no ending product.
Kitty | Feb 01, 2010

Should have got 2 or 3 …good thing he didn’t.

On the other hand, Rooney could have gotten another 2 so, it wouldn’t have made a difference Arsenal still would have lost to us.

Good Luck Arsenal next week?

I can’t understand the thinking of Wenger… "I know, lets make it virtually impossible to win!"
Where is my mind | Feb 01, 2010

I will be truthful… I’m starting to feel a slight bit of pity bubbling-up inside. But really, how do you put someone like Arshavin up front against a squad like United’s? Come on, I can probably knock-around the little fella.
+VANshee | Feb 01, 2010

What it says about Arsenal (Arshavin starting upfront alone) is that Wenger believes that Arsenal doesn’t require strength in depth upfront, for some strange reason. He’s had ample opportunity to sign another striker… Bendtner’s a nuisance, but that’s all he really is – apparently his attitude has improved but he hasn’t transferred his form for Denmark to Arsenal as of yet.
perfectlyflawed | Feb 01, 2010

His physic makes him part of the player he is today.
You could also ask if he was broader, more muscular and taller. Would he not be as good and a different type of player.

Saints or Colts?? Whose gonna win?
ok so me n my friends are having a bet weather the saints or the colts are gonna win……………………..can you guys just guess and tell me who you think are gonna win??
thanks

Well, I live in Indiana, so it’s no surprise that I pick the Colts, but there’s reason behind the pick too. The Colts have been battling all year. They set an NFL record for the number of 4th quarter comebacks in a row and in a season. Now, this could be seen as a bad thing in a certain light: they needed to win at the last second instead of dominating the game like New Orleans did to New England. However, I believe that this actually simply just shows that the Colts know what it takes to win football games. They’ve been in numerous ugly games, and if you always win the ugly ones, then you are the best team. Combine that with how amazing they’ve done despite injuries (receivers comes up often, but look up how many games Powers and Lacey (both rookies) started at CB), and how these injuries have allowed young players to develop at an alarming pace, and one gets a team simply built for success.

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes!
Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Children of the Corn
Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark

Poltergeist
Rosemary’s Baby
Suspiria
The Birds
The Blob
The Crazies
The Fly
The Gate
The Orphanage
The Substitute
The Witches
The Wolfman
They Live
Versus

I think they’re making too many. What’s your opinion?

Absolutely. Once was more than enough for most of these.

Others may like them better than I do…so to each their own.

The best scary things are books, because your own imagination provides the thrills…not special effects or gory images. The music buildup to a good scare is hard to imagine by yourself, though….just some music is creepy, like the Twilight Zone theme song…da da da dah…da da da dah…daaaah .

Defiantly. Michael Bay is part of the reason. I mean most of those remakes suck. I mean the texas chainsaw massacre and the amity ville horror was all right. But he ruined the friday the 13th remake, and now he’s gonna ruin Nightmare on elm street.
He really should stop producing movies.

Michigan at MSU

A great start to the 2009 season could be in jeopardy for No. 22 Michigan , as the Wolverines hit the road for the first time Saturday when they face rival Michigan State at Noon ET from Spartan Stadium.

Bet Michigan at Michigan State

Michigan has started 4-0 on the year and 1-0 in the Big Ten Conference thanks to a 36-33 win over Indiana last weekend. In the win, the Wolverines trailed the Hooisers for most of the game, but Tate Forcier led Michigan on a late touchdown drive, as he hit Martavious Odoms on a 28-yard touchdown pass for the win. Forcier bruised his shoulder in the win, but is expected to play Saturday. On the year, Forcier has thrown for 671 yards and seven touchdowns while he joins Brandon Minor , Denard Robinson , and Carlos Brown as Wolverines that have rushed for over 125 yards on the season. Brown leads the rushing attack with 321 yards and three scores. Michigan currently ranks first in the Big Ten in points per-game and rushing yards, with 961. Defensively, the Wolverines have struggled, ranking third to last in the conference in passing yards allowed with 975.

Michigan State had high hopes to be ranked at this point of the season, but a 29-27 loss at home to MAC foe Central Michigan , started a downward spiral for the Spartans as they have since lost to Notre Dame and Wisconsin by single digits to drop to 1-3 on the year. The Spartans are still working on finding a quarterback, as Kirk Cousins and Keith Nichol have split time at the position. Cousins has 850 yards and seven touchdowns while Nichol has 403 yards and five scores. The real issue for MSU has been in the rushing game, where it ranks second to last in the Big Ten with 471 yards in four games. MSU is tops in the conference in passing yards, but ranks last in the Big Ten in passing yards allowed at 997 through four games.
